I decided to install the beta firmware.
Remote response is back to normal but, as reported by others, the EPG is
slow to populate.

Using Rowridge, the EPG had already become very slow for me after the
channel changes last year. Installing the latest beta firmware, hasn't
made it any slower here IMHO, but has apparently solved the other
problems.

Victor and Paul

are you prepared to tell us how you got the beta software? please - no
mention of date for OTA and no mention of download yet from DTG or
Humax.

You can ask Humax to email it to you. Now though, it is also available
at hummy.org.uk, so may as well skip going to Humax.

In the forums. See this thread (can also download here):

There is still no Humax 9200 software update but Humax have informed me
there should be one as soon as possible and are close to resolution (so
pretty much the same as they have been saying for the last few months).

They have suggested trying a reset (yeah, right). I cannot try it
'again' as I got so ****ed off I busted the remote. I have asked Humax
for a free replacement but they were not to keen to do this, LOL. I
intend to pointlessly pursue this further.

Replacement (and free) remote arrived from Humax yesterday. Now I can
use the 9200 again I decided to install the beta firmware.

Am I correct in thinking that the software update is by RS232, rather than
USB? I'll have to take it round my Dad's - he still got a PC old enough!

Yes, it is

But it appears you can use a USB to serial port adapter - see post 213 et al
here

Reinstalled from web site download software file PGXTF 1.00.21 and this
made behaviour much much better (but still problematical) so there may
be some sense in the default setting that Humax suggest.

Anyone got an URL please for a source of a beta update file?

Is this a recent problem with the 9200T? I used one for a long time,
until I switched to cable a couple of years ago. Fantastic bit of kit -
still in the cupboard in fact.

Yes, some of them started misbehaving several months ago. It seems to
depend on which transmitter you are using.

It's fixed now: software V1.00.23 has cured it, but it hasn't been sent over
the air yet.
