Default Lost EPG since digital upgrade...

Hi all,

Since the Mendip upgrade the other week, our Panasonic TX26LXD60's EPG
has died a death. Before the upgrade we'd get a full 7 day listing for
all the channels but now it's mostly missing-in-action. At best it would
get the rest of the day on the main channels (BBC1/2/ITV) and maybe a
few programmes for the odd day in the future.

Earlier I did a full blown reset, blank scan and re-scan and now, after
a few hours, it's doing Now/Next and nothing more.

Sadly the other box in the house doesn't have a working guide (thank you
for /that/ update Grundig. Grrr...) so I've got nothing for comparison.

Signal strength is very good without being OTT as is signal quality. No
break ups or glitches whilst watching. Software is v1.52 (which the OTA
update says is the latest.)

Emailed Panasonic and they reckoned to do a manual tune of the MUXs -
good one considering the s/w doesn't have that option. Grr.

So.... Does anyone know of any guide related problems in the Mendip
region? Or with this set?

Ta muchly,

The EPG has been causing problems on some boxes since DSO. Mendip
in particular seems to have been problematic. All the problems
I've seen reported have been on Humax PVRs, in particular the
PVR9200T. This is the first report I've seen of other
manufacturers equipment having problems with the EPG.

So, yes, there has been some guide related change since DSO that
may be causing your problem.

My Panasonic doesn't use the regular EPG but uses "GuidePLUS" or "with
bloody irritating ads" as it's know in our house. I believe this is carried
on channel 5 but you should check this from their website.

Thanks for that Mark. I'd done searches but not found anything (though
I'd be concentrating on set specific ones.)

Good to know that it isn't just us. I shall let the powers that be know
that she's not alone (I don't watch the thing!!)

According to the Guide+ website, UK Panasonics don't have Guide+! Ours
isn't listed anyway.

Looking at the screenshots I think I go with your name for it. I wonder
how long before every last flat surface in this country will carry an
advert for something. Grr!
