Default Speaker and freesat buying advice please

OK due to a health issue I'll be stuck indoors for a long while. So I'm
looking for some speakers to hook up to my Panasonic TV , Its a smallish
flat so Albert Hall loudness is not needed just nice quality sound.

Also a decent Freesat HD with the option to plug in a hard drive to record.

I'm on incapacity at the moment so I'm not looking for top of the range
expensive kit. More VFM.

Thanks

Why not go for a decent pair of phones?. Some very good ones can be had for
around a 100 quid . As loud as you like no grief to the neighbours etc..

... Bit over that amount but these are superb

Does your TV have external speaker sockets, in which case what will they
drive?

Most TVs have a headphone socket and phono outputs (low level) at the most.

These would require an amplifier as well as speakers.

Do you have a decent audio system for CDs &c.? If so, you could use that, if
the speakers are positioned either side of the TV.

Logitech Z323 2.1 Speaker System - 30W RMS
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175418 - £40.74 inc VAT.

Pretty good clear sounding speaker set, sounds more HiFi than PC gaming
- definitely VFM!

No stereo or music centre

I seem to have the standard red and white audio out jacks.

Well, as you're on long-term sick leave and incapacity I didn't know if this
might be a bit pricey but then saw what the others were suggesting so I
thought I might as well throw in my tuppence-worth )

Just got these wireless speakers last week and they're brilliant

There interesting. I wonder if they would work as extended speakers.

Thanks

One of the pros on here has recommended these in the past:

Although there's a volume control on the speakers, you'd need to make
sure that the volume level of the signal feeding the phono inputs varied
with the telly volume (the phono outputs on my telly do, others may
not).

Have these got an amp built in then ?
