Default Aliens Are Among Us

Back in the seventies or so ISTR several series where Aliens were
living among us and running things.

In one they had little fingers that stuck out, in another they had
lizard tongues and in another their knees worked backwards.

Does anyone else find it coincidental that no such series have been
repeated since the BBC (and others) got rid of all their engineers and
relaced them with Deputy Chief Assistant Programme Controllers and the
like?

They moved into polite society way back hence the little finger stuck
out when drinking tea and having those little fancy cakes. The
engineers all now live in converted tanker units in railway sidings now.

Yes, also, the "little fingers that stuck out" refers to The Invaders.

I've got arthritis in the large joint of one of my little fingers. As a
result, the finger tends to stick out more than it should. Should I be
concerned?

Noone in polite society sticks out their little finger when drinking
tea. It's difficult to know where that myth originated.

That's easy if you've used bone china cups instead of cracked mugs.
The handle centres are maybe small enough to get two fingers through
at best and the lower fingers either hang against the hot cup or
instinctively the user gets the offending finger out of the way.

Ahh thank you! I was wracking my brain to remember the name of that
one.

Now what was the hero's name, not Steve Austin?
