Do not recognize the brand noted by the model nbr.
Just bought a Vizio 47" LCD-LED. Very pleased. I got the *plasma* Samsung, 58". Delighted. IIRC, it's brighter than the LCD one, and the latter isn't local LED dimming, so the plasma has better contrast. IIRC. -- John McWilliams |

Thanks, VietNam Vet 1969 82 ABN DIV. I have a Vizio LCD and hate it. Lousy blacks, not much adjustability for gray scale and gamma. The Samsung is a fine performer. Leonard |

It has excellent picture quality, and cost less than $2,000. I looked at Samsung, but screen was highly reflective. I saw it in three different stores. In each one there were reflections from lights, doors, and windows interfering with the otherwise excellent picture. Since my family room has doors and windows, I wouldn't consider the Samsung. -- Jim |

LED unit is approx 1.5" narrower than the LG 47" LCD I was on my way to buy; stopped in at SAM's for HDMI cables, figures, "why not, take another look". V's 47"LED was it. That 1.5" overall narrower size made a significant difference in the cavity it was to be placed. Also V's height was and inch and change lower - thus did not have to mess around with the brackets :-) BTW, V's "adjustables" are numerous; was also able to remote-drive a new LG BD-390 player. The pair is fine. Now in need of a bit of updated audio gear. Yup. I've got a 55 inch Vizio LCD with LED backlight. It has excellent picture quality, and cost less than $2,000. I refer to this tv as an LCD tv which it is. Samsung refers to this as an LED tv. Basically this tv uses an LCD panel (thus it is an LCD tv) but it uses LED backlighting (as opposed to typical CCFL backlighting). Samsung marketing has had great success with the term "LED tv" but in reality it is still an LCD tv but with LED used for backlighting purposes. Just wanted to make sure nobody is confused when Samsung refers to it as an LED tv and I am calling it LCD....in a way they are both right but this can be confusing for a consumer." And it's 3K! -- john mcwilliams |
