May not be *entirely* the fault of the "installer". I bought a gpA unit
and had to turn the "sockets" through 180deg before adding the reflectors.

If that aerial is doing anything useful it might be because the
reflector is back to front. It looks as though it would reflect a signal
coming from the side through 90 degrees on to the dipole.

There used to be an immigration advice centre in Bristol which for some
reason when it was locked up resembled a heavily shuttered fortress, so much
so that I would imagine it would have even been impossible for a postman to
have delivered any letters, must have been a really popular place.

Not as good as your photo, but the aerial can clearly be seen in Google Streetview (IG1 1EE)
Pity about the woman cut in half by a car next door, looks like a doctor's surgery, I wonder
if they were able to put her back together again ;-)

I think it might be an early Vision product from Satellite Solutions,
who have a branch just across the river from Ilford.

It often happens that church-type organisations use eager volunteers
for jobs like this, sometimes with disasterous results. Attempts to
install lighting above a rather lovely stained glass skylight in an
old library (now a church) near here resulted in a pile of coloured
glass and an old bloke on the carpet.
