Apparently, according to a person who works in the local hospital, they are
seeing a lot of strans, and fractures from people going over the top using these various bits for games in small rooms and either falling over or hitting furniture ets while waving their arms about. Blimey they will be nbanned soon, or have a warning on them. Still, while nursing thier broken bones, they can always watch tv... Just think of the frustration of being stuck in front of a TV unable to move and with both hands in plaster unable to operate the remote. -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |

I'm not at all convinced that the same effort and technique is required when using a Wii nunchuck as the bowling ball, bat, golf club etc. that it's emulating. One thing is certain, whether it's real or virtual sport, this poster would rather just watch than take part himself. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

Brian I nearly knocked my 8 year old unconscious with a particularly spectacular back hand playing Wii tennis at Christmas 2008. Certainly knocked him off his feet. Fortunately he's quite robust and went on to win the match, and every other since. |

I'm pretty sure there is some sort of safety warning displayed when you boot the Wii, can't remember the exact wording, never bothered reading it properly... |

The marketing of the wii 'fit' has successfully made the concept appear on the radar for a elderly friend of ours who is having great problems controlling her weight. However, she rang me up asking if it's worth buying into. I just responded, "It's a kids, TV game" and left it at that. To be honest she is a bit challenged changing channels on her TV remote, and if she want's to go down this route, rather than what the doc has recommended then .... (contd. page 94) -- Adrian C |

Brian -- Brian Gaff - You are years behind the times - this was all on the news a long long time ago. I love the stories that get spread about with the "a friend said" as most are untrue. Name the hospital - I doubt you will as I think you know it isn't true now. It was years ago but not any more. Show us all a recent case in which someone broke a bone as a result of playing on a Wii. One from the last two weeks will do. |
