Default Recording multiple programmes

I have a Daewoo DRHT630 recorder. I recently attempted to record five
programmes running consequetively on one channel, Dave. The first
recorded and then the thing switched back to standby and recorded no more.

Talking to the retailer I was informed that this could happen because
after the first recording the signal to switch off the first programme
came after the signal to start the second recording, therefore because
it cannot record two progs at once it ignored the second, and for that
matter the third.

As the whole lot was setup up as a series recording is this likely, or,
as I suspect I am getting conned.

Is there a way of setting it to record from one time to another? Like old
VHS machines, etc? Rather than using the EPG. Since it doesn't require a
channel change.

I would say it's a likely explanation, but it's also something the
manufacturer jolly well should have thought about and worked around when
writing the firmware for the device.

It seems to be a feature of the modern digital age that nothing ever get
finished properly.
Everything has silly annoying bugs.

Ask the manufacturer if they have a solution (such as updated firmware)
before trying to return for a refund.

Yes, I can set up recordings manually but I foolishly expected it to do
what it said on the box :-(

Isn't technology marvellous? I had a look on their website and there
ain't no upgrades but I did email them to ask for their explanation.
Optomistic, that's me.

It's a Daewoo.- you will not get any customer service! They have chosen
to let most of the Freeview boxes they have produced go to landfill
rather than provide any bug fixes.

I emailed Daewoo with my problem and received an email back telling me
to phone Customer Services. I did this and as a result someone called me
back this morning and said that programme overlap wasn't the likely
problem. He suggested that I reset the recorder and try it again. This
has been done and anything might now happen :-(
