I'm sure there would be a joke there . A very bad one. Absolutely... He's going to "deliver" a world-class TV station. You'll find it tucked inside yet another advertising leaflet and left hanging out of your letterbox. |

Doesn't matter how bad someone is, they will be described as 'experienced' Well the new boy, Adam Crozier, is certainly experienced. He started with Saatchi & Saatchi scrambling up the ladder to become joint chief executive. He became chief executive of The Football Association, and then he headed the Royal Mail Group. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Crozier There must(?) be something relevant in there. -- Peter Duncanson (in uk.tech.digital-tv) |

I use the term deliberately, and if he tries to do for ITV what he did with the post office, there should be no shortage of spare channels very shortly. I think I can guess what you mean. They'll close lots of regional transmitting stations, the whole lot will stop broadcasting on Saturday afternoons, and we'll have to wait at least 15 minutes every time we select one of their channels. It's not that long ago I used to defend the PO - at least here. First delivery before I left for work and second one at lunchtime. Very rarely anything lost. And a handy local but busy sub post office. But Parcel Farce have deserved their nick for many a day. Now there's one delivery at approx lunchtime - but can vary by up to two hours either side. Sub post office closed - against their will - and the next nearest one a main one which is ridiculously busy - you have to queue for at least 20 minutes. And this in Central London. I can only guess what it must be like in rural areas. -- *Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine. Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |
