I thought everybody knew that the best power socket plugs are not gold
plated, but rhodium plated. (Beware the inferior silver plated ones.)

Lastly, make sure you have lithium batteries in your remote.

Yebut I just put Tescos half price lithiums in my Wii remotes, I
reckoned they would vibrate stronger for longer.
Shall I go back to zinc carbon?

Depends on how long you want your vibrators to run for.

Tim

I wouldn't want them to discharge prematurely.

Well, unless your leads are several metres long, there really is no need for
anything but normal leads. After all, I very much doubt if the wiring
inside the tv and the pins of its connectors were purchased from a stockist
of military spec components.

I think far more important is making sure the cables are kepts away from the
mains ones as much as possible, and making sure they are firm when mated. If
anything changes with a gentle wiggle then its not going to last long.

Hi All,

As ive just got my excellent new telly up, i want to make sure im getting
the best picture my budget will allow for a minute.

Ive heard that getting gold platted scart leads which go from the
video/DVD to the tv will greatly increase the picture quality, is this
true or shall i just leave what i have in there now?

Thanks

They send AC mains through the wires? Appalling! Think of the radiation!
They should convert the power to smoothed DC (not more than 12V), pass it
through quarter inch, single core, low oxygen copper wire, then convert it
back to DC with an inverter, with the 50 Hz synchronised to the transmitter
in Anthorn.

quote
The best way of describing the improvements with the SuperKordâ„¢ is that
it brings you so much closer to the performance recorded onto your
discs. Singers seem to perform with much more expression, musicians play
‘better’ and you get much more of a sense of the musical message. As
well as these ‘musical’ improvements, bass is cleaner, deeper and more
tuneful; midrange is more natural and treble is smoother and sweeter,
with less ‘glare’.
endquote

Amazingly all this wonderful clean, deep, smooth, sweet and non-glare
sound is recorded by equipment that lacks any of this Russ Andrews
magic.

Even better would be to solder in a permanent link between the equipment and
your TV.

Forgive the levity you have invoked here, but the regulars are
(rightly) somewhat cynical about the marketing tactics of many
equipment sellers. The salient ponts a
1. If you have the option with your equipment to use HDMI connections
instead of scart, do so.
2. If you do have to use scart, use ordinary common sense to avoid
flimsy-looking cables, but do not pay extra for gold plating.
