Was told earlier in this subject that Freesat HD boxes could be had for
£40, to be honest I think this too good to be true, so I asked which box
and where.
I have not noticed a response, can I get one for £40, in fact I will buy 2.

David

That was IanT, most people have realised by now he doesn't have a clue
and is best ignored.

I don't use the speakers in TV sets, so I'm not qualified to say which

Don't you have a tv in the kitchen or bedroom? Do you have a sound system
there?

I have one television set. It's in the living room, so if I want to watch a
programme that's where I sit. That's where the most comfortable chair is
anyway. My kitchen adjoins the living room in such a way that if I must see
the screen from there I can glance through the doorway, though I can easily
pause a programme while making the tea. I can't imagine why I'd want a
television in the bedroom as most of the time I spend there I'm either
reading or asleep.

Hello, My wife and I are considering the purchase of a new TV which

[snip]

LG 32" with Freesat HD built in: -

That doesn't seem a good recommendation after the recent experience of
poster 'Jack Rabbit' in this group - thread subject 'LG 50PS6000'
(08jan10) - who ended up taking his LG set back because of unacceptable
picture quality.

That was a plasma and he was too close.

but they will deny having any and fob you off with something inferior...

not forgetting the additional £100 to have a dish installed.

You can get a DIY one from Maplin for less than half that and he may have a
dish already.

I have a 24" Samsung in the bedroom. The sound is not good. I get more
acceptable (i.e. less annoying) results with a cheap pair of amplified
speakers which I bought years ago for a computer.

The TV is a Samsung TD240HD "Digital TV Monitor":

or

The speakers are KTX Multimedia Speakers SP-80:

or

I bought the TV only a couple of months ago. I have better computer
speakers somewhere that I will try when I get round to it.

It's still not audiophile quality but the Logitech X-240 2.1 speaker
system I am now using gives much superior sound compared with the
built-in squawkers.
