Looks like a bit of a bargain. Almost tempted for a smidge under £50

It's a clone of the Foehn & Hoesch, or whatever it's called, that Ebuyer
are selling, which itself is a Monitsu clone.

Don't own one myself, but from what I've heard, it's meant to be pretty
decent, but can be slightly noisy in some cases. £50 for multi-region
BD, well worth a punt at that price, when you're probably looking at
nearer £300 for a "proper" named multi-region player.

I'm sure but I don't have 300 quid and I'm not interested in playing
games.

Bet it doesn't play region-locked BDs from other regions though ;-)

It is stated it can be hacked to do this.

If you follow the link in the OP's post it takes you to a forum where the
necessary codes to perform the multiregion BD hack are given.
Unfortuately the thread is now many pages long but all the info is there
somewhere on the early pages.

The issue seems to be that although the machine can then play multi region
BD disks the regionalisation is restored if the unit is unplugged from the
mains, necessitating performing the hack again.

You may be lucky to find one as the offer is now some days old and likely
sold out.

The well-respected Sony BDPS360 is down to less than £100 these days (80 in
Richer Sounds New Year sale). It can be made region-free for DVDs pretty
easily using a One4All remote (but not the user one!)

I know the Limit can, I was referring to Martin's £300 one, which also
plays games, presumably the PS3, which certainly can't (as yet) be
hacked for multi-region.

I'm sure there are plenty that can easily be made region-free for DVDs,
Blu-Ray is an entirely different matter, hence the nearer £300 price for
a named multi-region player.
