The dual tuner Humax PVRs try to leave a tuner free for live viewing, which sometimes means clipping am overrun if one programme starts at the same time as another on another channel. Yep, exactly. It even does this if the recordings are made from standby and the machine knows that no-one is watching a live recording. Bloody annoying (and the reason that I won't be buying another one) It is annoying but happens rarely so I live with it as my Humax 9200T is otherwise excellent (apart from the lagging/freezing subtitles on playback). If I see in my scheduled recordings that this is likely to happen I reocrd an alternative for one of the items or pad one of them before to ensure two tuners are used (but that one will not then use AR). -- Wilf |

But that's one of the things I waiting to be improved :-) I bought one last week from Tesco online for £59.97, it works very well, is a brilliant idea and does exactly what the manufacturers say, however that being said I would have willingly paid £99.99 for something that could have really made an impression on the market, (1) *1080p upscaled HDMI output.. (2) *The ability to format in NTFS is as well as FAT 32.. (3) Twin tuner units.. (4) The ability to read* and record to SD flash cards with a on board card slot.. (5) The option of recording and*playing at different qualities (and therefore increased capacity) including divx mpeg4 compatibility.. and finally although it would not be essential, it would also be nice to have a beefier 12 volt Power Supply unit that could supply an 'unpowered' ext USB hard drive. You may think that I'm expecting far too much for the money but the items marked with a star (apart from the ability to be able to record) are all readily available on a nifty little HDMI 1080p media player made by a company called Sumvision.. Cost of that including remote control £23.00! |
