my pop (91) uses a earphone (wired) to listen to tv. his hearing is shot so
in order for him to hear the sound without driving everyone in the family
wacko is with his earphone. was wondering if there is a wireless earpiece
available for him to plug into his headphone jack so he won't be teathered
to his tv with a 4 ft cord?

These are great. I have two pair. Comfortable with a great range.
I've never seen them cheaper than at this link:

Whoops, now that I look at it harder, that link is only to the an
addition headphone, which is useless without the sending unit. They are
obviously more expensive as a set.

dan, thanx for the info, however i was interested in a one piece earpiece
similar to the single earpiece he presently uses w/o the wire. he would not
use anything that big

There are various smaller "both ear" products out there like "tv ears",
and much better. I haven't seen any single ear products around.

Sennheiser makes some good stuff in their assisted listening products. Not
cheap but they work very well.

I second both your and Dan's recommendation of Sennheiser products. We
use two of their wireless 130 transmitters here and recently bought
the 140 for a legally blind/deaf neighbor who absolutely loves them.

Our 130s happened to be on sale at CostCo two or three years ago for
around $70, where I bought two sets. Wish I'd picked up more as
gifts.

We also have LTB 5.1 wireless sets, which were more expensive than
Sennheiser list price. Their lightweight headsets are a tad flimsy
compared with Sennheiser.

Sennheiser headset comfort is tops. Set the cell to vibrate, as
you'll probably not hear the phone.
