Default Clear QAM channels - Cox Orange County CA

Here is a list of digital channels with a basic + extended package (no
digital service) from Cox in south Orange County CA. Some of these have
been moving around lately, and PSIPs on some have been on and off:
2-1 KCBS HD
4-1 KNBC HD
4-2 KNBC weather
5-1 KTLA HD
7-1 KABC HD
7-2 LivWel
7-3 KABC weather

That's an impressive list of QAM channels. Drive south into San Diego County
and Time Warner only dishes out about 10.

Not really. It's just the local stations. Granted there are a lot of
those in LA but most of it is drivel - wait, like the rest of cable.
Who knew?

Plenty of people.

But few of them frequent this newsgroup, as evidenced by the very
condescending opinions a few years ago that something like this would
NEVER happen, that the switch to digital was a switch to HD, because
there simply would NEVER be enough eyeballs to support the "drivel"
subchannels of old movies and rerun TV shows and whatnot.


Wake me when OTA sub-channel "drivel" has programming like ESPN, fX,
and the rest of cable's drivel. Nothing down here except a redundant
weather channel, some Spanish language programming, and a few audio
channels.
