Default loss of subtitles on S4C

Hi can anyone tell me why i have suddenly lost my english subtitles
for the welsh chanel S4C this happened on the 1st dec on my grundig TV
and i now see a blue square with what looks like an ear in the square
at the bottom right hand corner of the screen....jacko

What platform? I've just checked on Freeview from Moel-y-Parc and they
were working.

We lost English subtitles on digital S4C some time ago (forget when - may
have been Retune Day) but they were working again the other day. Might have
been different with another TV but I never checked. We'd been having to use
analogue text (P888) to get our soap fix...
