I'd go for a Humax PVR9200T - plenty of them secondhand and they come
with either 160 or 320GB drives , though the former is far more common.

Humax Direct http://humaxdirect.co.uk/ sell "Grade A" (recon return
models) - click on Manager's Specials on the LHS. They currently advertise a
320 GB 9200T for £115.

Don't even go near the 9200 until Humax address the serious issue with
them locking up, see earlier thread. I have 2 of these, my sister has
one and all now useless after changes at Winter Hill on 4th Nov.

Mine's working just fine , and there's a software update due this week
to fix the problems that some people are having.
*that's* why you should buy a humax , because there's good software
support for models that are no longer on sale.

I got an update on my 9150 earlier this week (or was it last) but then
I've never had a (touch wood) problem with it.

This is what Humax said about the problem

"we are aware that a small number of Freeview+ PVR users are
experiencing issues with their remote controls being sluggish or
unresponsive, and boxes occasionally locking up following the recent
"National retune day" and the DSO's. This has been caused by minor
changes (that Humax were not made aware of) to the broadcast signal in
certain areas, and is not a hardware fault."

Well I can report that after the final phase of the DSO at Winter Hill
on 2nd Dec. the problem has gone away (at least for me anyway) and my
two 9200 boxes are back to normal health. No software update, so it
seems that whatever the broadcasters did on 4th Nov. they undid
yesterday.

Found this on a Humax forum, which may shed some light on the issue,

"Another site notes that the 9200 problems are associated with the
situation where the box receives a mixture of 2K and 8K transmission
modes. For the last four days I have run my 9200T manually tuned to
Winter Hill channel 62 (Mux 1) which uses 8K mode. Over this period,
the Humax has behaved perfectly, responding rapidly to button presses,
subtitles coming up only a few seconds behind rather than several
minutes and generally performing as it used to do when it worked
properly. If you have two 9200Ts and are on the point of putting them
in the skip, it might be worth trying setting one to channel 62 and
the other set to 66, 67, 68, 56 and 63 (the 2K mode muxes).Following
stage two "DSO2" on 2nd December, it looks as though the Winter Hill
2K muxes will all change to 8K, so the problem should go away for
those of us using Winter Hill."

Try telling that to al the folks (myself included) who are still
waiting for the EPG / Info fix that Humax promised years ago for the
FOX2. Their last claim was that it would be difficult to implement
without resorting to removing the games!

I believe at the time the box was possibly the most expensive on the
market.

Unacceptable!
