IIRC there were some PC cards (or USB?) that could receive the HD test
transmissions. What happened to these?

Did the test transmissions use T1 or T2?

If only I didn't receive from Waltham which will only have T2 in 2011,
I'd rush out and get one for my myth box, price no object!

Yes - I actually have a Nebula DigiTV PCI card in my PC - the software for
this is called DigiTV-HD - BUT it still won't receive the new Freeview HD!

DVB-T2 was only finalised earlier this year and these trials (in 2006?)
used DVB-T/MPEG4

At only € 2.495, it's a snip!

Those were DVB-T, not DVB-T2. So for the test transmissions, you could
use a standard USB Freeview tuner stick and decode in software (but not
in real time, I recall reading).

Since we're going to be the only country with DVB-T2 for a while, any HD
tuner is likely to be expensive.

Indeed, and at current exchange rates is not far off that value in UKP !

This is a low volume prof product -
has no relation to any consumer products.

I'm sure everyone is aware of that!
