Default Freesat branding on dishes, where?

One of the issues surrounding the low take up of sattelite services in
certain areas of the UK, is that the display of a receiving dish on ya
property proudly advertises that fact that the occupants have some sort
of leaning towards murdoch provided 'entertainment' / mindwash.

Around here, I still see plenty of dish manufacturer's logos painted
across some non-Sky sourced sattellite dishes - those installed chiefly
for the reception of non-UK services and of course kit purchased for
freesat.

But I've never seen a Freesat branded dish. Are they out there?

I wouldn't want a brand on my dish for the same reason that I don't
have a large Pilkington banners across my windows.

I remember peeling off the Amstrad vinyl on the first dish I installed here.

I won't wear clothes with adverts on it. And when Perrys started to fix a
chrome Perrys badge to every car they sold, well!

Agreed. Also the first thing I do on replacing my car is peel the
garage's advert off! If they paid me I might consider leaving them on!

Likewise.

And people that pay a fortune to wear a football shirt, that advertises the
club's sponsorship company, need to have their head examined IMHO !

Thankfully Wednesday have solved that problem for me. Wednesday now
sponsor the Sheffield Childrens Hospital, a bit like a local version
of the Barca Unicef deal.

You mean because of its particular shape ?

I don't think I've seen any dishes with the Sky logo on them, but perhaps I
haven't been paying attention.

Freesat does not sell dishes, dish manufacturers are often based abroad and
making dishes for many satellites, distributors and retailers in the UK are
similarly supplying products for reception of various satellites.

The Freesat organisation could get the stickers made and supply some to
distributors for inclusion with each suitable dish sold, but then it would
be up to the customer to apply the logo, and as has been commented here,
even customers who are actually buying a dish for Freesat probably wouldn't
want to put a promotional sticker on it when they need not.

Your suggestion of dishes with Freesat logo would be a good marketing
strategy to boost the brand and perhaps take up, but realistically I don't
think the Freesat organisation could give a damn.

What exactly makes you think this? Have you some verifiable evidence to back
the statement up?

Yup, extended relative mentioned to me that exact sentinet why he
wouldn't put up a Sky dish on his house - for what the neighbours would
think. It's a bit of a liberal toff area where he lives - 'Hyacinth
Bucket' doesn't even come close sometimes.

Er, no. it's hearsay (as above). Perhaps I should have sprinkled some
words like perhaps, allegedly, supposing etc.. all over the original post.
