Default New channel coming on?

Yesterday I was asked by two people about a new channel that is coming on
soon. Both said they had seen the channel advertised on another TV channel.
Does anyone know what they are talking about? Neither of them knew what the
channel was going to be about, or what it was called etc.... Can some kind
soul enlighten me as to this new channel that everyone seems to know about,
but don't have any proper details of? I have searched around but have
failed to find any more details. Last night the name 'Fanfare' was
mentioned, but that might be way off, as the chap who mentioned it was not
at all sure.....

Thanks
Rod Keith

VIVA, Ch21? It's certainly been TV advertised, looks like a re-brand of
TMF.

Ch21 became VIVA a few days ago. Without a retune Ch21 is still called
TMF in the channel list, etc. The DOG is now VIVA. Brief glimpses
suggest the content is unchanged from what TMF had been showing: music
videos plus some sitcoms and reality shows.

Depends on your receiver. My Toppy PVR, and all my Sony TVs have renamed
it Viva automagically.

the annoying thing is the real VIVA channel was so cool and great for
discovering foreign bands etc.

I wonder what goes through the minds of folks who try to think up new names
for old dross? They must surely know that nobody really cares what the
channel is called, they just want something to passively entertain them when
they are cream cricketed.

No, no, it's the name that's all important and the content that doesn't
matter . . . .

It would a lot more than a new name to get me to watch any of the
minority channels. The only possible attraction for people like me
would be to show the programs that I already watch. New names won't
get new viewers.

Surely you mean "cream crackered", Brian, as in Cockney rhyming slang?
