Someone who can actually think their way around the explanation,

there was a mistake - dyslexia wasn't first called "Word

So why not just fess up and say, oops I meant banal instead of ranting
on?
If you weren't so confrontational all the time perhaps other posters
would pay you the same decency and consideration.

Does anyone else find it strange that people who claim to be dyslexic
on Usenet never misspell 'dyslexia'?

Because until Rod used the word I couldn't work out the correct
spelling, Duh!

I struggle to understand what you intended, I'm afraid.

Which bit of Andrew Neil only happens every other year?

As for puerile, he is often superficially light hearted, but
simultaneously incisive and challenging to his interviewees. He seems
to be a sceptic regarding the main parties (insofar as I can
determine), which is also a healthy state of affairs -- IMHO we have
had gushing, left-wing sycophancy from the BBC for far too long, and
Neil, Paxo and Eddie Mair all help to redress the balance a bit.

So I expect I'm in disagreement with you, but I still haven't really
got a clue as to what you were on about.

I think that might actually be more interesting and valuable than some
of the content already there.

But chopping
away a slew of UK radio for one Alba station (already on satellite and
iPlayer) for the whole of Scotland - the bulk of whom don't speak Gaelic -
makes nae sense to me.

I'm half wondering if the BBC isn't just intentionally loading the
dice here, presenting the option which most people are likely to
object to in order to ensure that it doesn't happen.

There are other more acceptable options. For instance, how about
taking some broadcast time away from BBC Parliament (which only
broadcasts recorded coverage of the Scottish Parliament on Saturday
mornings while BBC Alba is off-air anyway) ?

Maybe Alba could extend itself to providing live Scottish
Parliamentary coverage and replace BBC Parliament entirely?

Or broadcast BBC Parliament in sound-only or a quarter-screen while
Alba is on air. Or make Alba a drop-in to News 24. Or broadcast News
24 in sound only or quarter-screen while Alba is on air? Or drop the
'red button interactive' video stream while Alba is on air?
