This presumably is the same reguaulatoregulatorr who is currently consulting
on a possible increase in audio description for the blind, which requires the blind to use a web form for the survey.. The same regulator who, when rung about said survey had never heard of it, and asked me to email them to which, after three weeks there has been no response at all. Brian -- Brian Gaff - Note:- In order to reduce spam, any email without 'Brian Gaff' in the display name may be lost. Blind user, so no pictures please! "Mark Carver" wrote in message ... Where's the regulator when you need them ? Oh yes, I remember now, adding even more pointless ****e to the platform, at the same time as flogging off the bandwidth. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

Don't forget trying to shoehorn in a few HD channels! (and thus lowering the bandwidth of the existing SD channels which will have to fit in less space!) |

On Hotbird this morning I had a good laugh watching UM TV, which was not only was suffering from severe motion blocking but also had the left and right audio out of phase. Then I switched over to BBC Parliament, which was - and still is - broadcasting the Bournemouth conference with the audio out of phase.... |

A minor thread hijack; are there any freeview boxes that show what the bitrate is? Or is this information published elsewhere? Ta. |

Is it just Hannington, or crap on all transmitters ? Yes, terrible here.. constant blocking artifacts on scene changes and movement. I'm on Blackhill. Me too, it got too much to be watchable so I ended up switching over to analogue which was fine. What do we do when this happens after analogue switch off? Z |

If you've noticed that the politician's lips are not moving at the time you hear their voices, that isn't necessarily a technical fault. Remember that all politicians, of all parties, habitually talk out of their censored Andy |

Not instantaneously, but going by the recorded sizes from my mythtv box Gadget Show, 19:58 21st Sep, 67 minutes, 1531979288 bytes Gadget Show, 19:58 12th Oct, 67 minutes, 1187184092 bytes Those sizes include the video, main audio, audio description subtitles and mheg data. I always record 2 minutes before and 5 minutes after published times. So (based on a small sample size) they've dropped from 3.05Mbps to 2.36Mbps, a 22% reduction in bitrate. for historic data see http://dtt.me.uk/ |

writes Ah, this in preparation for their new channel called WPD, or watch paint dry. Some say its a big improvement over their current channels. Sport is on TDC - Tumble Drier Channel. The resolution is better than Full HD too. ;-) -- Kennedy Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed; A lovely little thinker, but a bugger when he's ****ed.
