Default Whoa has this group thinned out!

Not as many people buying HDTV's I reckon.

I have not been on here in a while and surprised to see less than 200 msgs
in a month.

I don't think its for lack of people buying TV's

But is just the fact that many ISP's have dropped
Usenet access!!

I've noticed a drop in traffic on all newsgroups the
last few months

Fortunately I get my newsgroup access from company in
Germany..... so still have Usenet to use

I HATE HATE HATE web based groups!! I hope that we
don't completely lose Usenet!

Many are using this provider for text based newsgroups. Not a bad
deal at all....

Well, at least this group is not being spammed as some idiot is doing it
on the "comp.sys.laptops" group.
This kind of quiet period happens on many groups occasionally. Just
start a hot topic and people will come out of the woodworks.

I get mine FREE from teranews.com. I don't download Binaries these days,
so It's more then good enough for my use. I'm not a fan of the Web Based
Forums. It's SLOWER. I can scan headers and go though a bunch of messages
in the Newsgroups a whole lot faster. I hate having to go from one Web
Forum, then to another, and another, so I don't do that much.

I would think due to the post DTV transition and some people putting off
buying new HDTV sets because of the bad economy. I don't have a HDTV set. I
come over here to read and ask about some of the DTV issues that's been
going on since the DTV transition. There was alot of technical questions
being asked that interest me.

Well, a lot of people around Seattle will be sorry for buying their
expensive HDTVs that they now can use to receive a lot of digital
channels even with limited cable package. According to a Seattle Times
column, Comcast will be encrypting most of those channels between
October 27 and November 11. I kinda' expected it and that's why I bought
one that I could also use as an excellen LCD monitor.
