Either that or he has a multiplex broadcasting from his boot. ;-)

It works flawlessly in the areas in which I work and travel. I found one
small area near Winchester where the signal was marginal, but mostly it's
fine. I can't help it if you choose to live "in the sticks", beyond the
range of normal civilisation.

No, I know a lot about the subjects you mention because I spent 6 years
full time at university studying engineering.

He did half an OU degree and then dropped out. That's all we've seen any
evidence of anyway.

Why doesn't that surprise me? His obvious bias, stupidity, and "Save FM"
nonsense are actually funny to the rest of us who actually have a working
understanding of engineering and have made our livings from it for over
40 years.

They seem to have trained Roger Bolton on Feedback to say "But some
listeners think that DAB has worse sound quality than FM," but he hasn't
yet been on the Paxo course where they teach you how to actually get a
reply.

They never do give 'technical' explanations. And the majority of those
listening to R4 on DAB would wonder what it was all about anyway.

Or he might have a DAB multiplex hat with a big aerial on top.

Too right. But we draw the line at paying for students, obviously.

I suppose it is because I am a 60 year old Englishman living in
Scotland. Radio 4 has a nasty jingoistic tang - but some good comedy.

But when you learnt about engineering you will have learnt analogue
communications stuff, and I've seen countless people who no doubt do
understand analogue communications and who think that their knowledge
also applies to digital communications. But it doesn't, and like you
have done on here from day one, they invariably make a fool of
themselves by trying to sound knowledgable about things that they
actually don't understand at all because their knowledge of analogue
technologies does not transfer to them being knowledgable about
digital technologies.

People figured you out the first day you turned up on here as being a
loud mouth who thinks he knows his stuff but in reality you've
actually got an incredibly poor grasp of digital technologies, because
literally everything you went on about was wrong. And that is the
truth without any exaggeration whatsoever.

Would it be too technical for Radio 4 listeners to understand someone
saying that "The sound quality on DAB is lower than on FM"? I think
not.

Don't worry about the loud-mouthed buffoon. He hasn't realised yet that
we're all laughing AT him rather than with him...

His grasp on reality reduces daily - last week he was "a writer for a hi-
fi magazine", this week he's a "day trader", next week he'll probably be
the Pope or Napoleon!
