I have a 57" Sony rear projection HDTV. I can see yellowish bands going
vertically down the left and right side. It seems to start roughly where the analog TV picture stops. I unplugged all devices but the power and could still see the bands on a channel showing nothing but static. A friend suggested that it could be 'burn in' caused by not watching regular channels in full screen. He also suggested this could be helped by purchasing a DVD that shows a white screen for several hours. Any input from others that may have experienced this is appreciated. I played X-box Gotham Racing for a few months, it was 4:3 ratio. This
caused an opposite/similar problem for me. From the time I noticed it, probably 2 years ago now, I have always had the picture fill the screen. Filled by either zoom or full. I think it is now less noticable, but I don't remember exactly how bad it was. The reason I said opposite earlier was that it was the center that had a yellowish tint and the side bars were more white. Perhaps you need to play Gotham racing for a few months and I need to watch what you are watching, then we will both have screens fully tinted. "JMac" wrote in message . ..
