On the bright side, it's nice you still have your dad even if you
didn't make it by dad's day.

We recently got the older model Logitech Harmony 520 (http://
preview.tinyurl.com/lnr29r) and it is great! My wife is super happy
with it and she can actually watch TV now. haha. Before we had several
different remotes but this replaced all of them. I was very very
impressed by the Logitech software to setup the remote.. it was a
breeze..also the battery life is great, it has been over 6 months and
still have not changed them.

I recently bought a Harmony 510, because it handled all I needed, and
I've been pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up. I
especially like, if something goes wrong, you can recover your settings
online.

However, I probably wouldn't have bought it, if it had not been priced
at $50, and I had an Amazon gift certificate for $15 to use. For $35, I
didn't figure I was risking anything, and it turns out I wasn't.

I'll just chime in... I've been using an older Harmony 520 for
years. I find the setup to be pretty easy, though some don't like the
web interface. I've switched one component since I set up the remote,
and I had no problem changing the setup. The best part is that my
wife can watch TV, use the DVR, play a CD, watch a DVD, listen to the
radio, without asking me to turn everything on and set all the correct
inputs. }
