Since STV don't carry The Bill, how come this group isn't inundated with
Scots wanting to know how to tune-in English ITV regions?

Perhaps they have better taste?

The Bill hasn't been watchable for more than 5 years,
when it turned into Corrie with uniforms

though? I spotted it on ITV 3 or something last night. Mind you, I
have no idea if they get that up there either :O)

Presumably STV wouldn't drop a programme that was popular in Scotland,
no matter what argument they are having with ITV in London over costs,
so perhaps The Bill's Scottish following was small anyway ?

;-) Although if it hadn't been for Paul Marqueze(sp?) taking it way down
market all those years ago it would have been pulled as the audience was
falling. But when you go for sensational story lines, you limit the life
of a series. Exactly like Footballer's Wives, perhaps his most famous
creation. Other thing was replacing actors with eye candy.
I did watch the relaunch in HD and it was ok. But like all these sort of
things it comes down to script script script. Perhaps with only one ep a
week they can improve them. But I'm not holding my breath.

It had a larger percentage of the audience than in England, IIRC. A
spokesman for STV said their 'replacements' cost them more than they paid
for The Bill etc so it's not clear what really is going on.

Unfortunately we saw The Bill all too frequently, if STV have stopped
carrying it (I hadn't noticed) then that's great news, unless its River City
we get instead.

No, tonight at 9pm we get "Made in Scotland." Ronnie Corbett plays
gold with Colin Montgomerie at Gleneagles, Alastair Campbell performs
with a pipe band and Alex Norton delves into the songbook of Robert
Burns.

Agh! I thought you were kidding but its true, - Tartan Tat TV for the
tourists.
