Having trouble getting a good signal on ITV from Waltham - others are okay.
Tried retuning and lost some ITV and channel5. Got them back - but very
iffy. Full strength on BBC though.

Any ideas - I had been thinking a tree might be in my line of sight but I
guess that would downgrade all channels.

First question, what type of aerial do you have, Group C/D or Wideband ?

The muxes that carry ITV and C5 are on UHF Ch 23, and 26, way out of group if
you are using a C/D. BBC Mux is on Ch 49, inside Group C/D.

Also, trees are very 'frequency selective' and can act like notch filters,
killing one channel and leaving the others alone.

I don't know - it has 16 director elements and plastic encased element.
Fitted about 4 years ago. ITV1 is on 23

How good is your analogue C5 reception, compared with analogue BBC1/2/ITV/4 ?

You can tell the aerial group from the cap colour:
Group/Cap colour on aerial/Channel Range
A Red 21 to 37
B Yellow 35 to 53
C/D Green 48 to 68
E Brown 35 to 68
K Grey 21 to 48
W Black or none 21 to 68 (all of them, aka WideBand)

Aerial - yes

Can't easily tell with analogue - only SCART into TV - I have rationalised
some of the daisy chaining.
