[Oxford area]

Just before 10pm I set to record BBC4 and at 10pm the screen went
black and Raga music was heard instead, with no 'loss of signal'
appearing, of course. It's happened before on that channel but with
what sounds like a BBC radio discussion.

The receiver has had repeated reset and installation tunings in case
of some frequency changes that I knew nothing about but the same
problem happens now and then.

Is it some sort of saturation of signal from a local station swamping
out BBC4 or what?

Similar here from Mendip.

All BBC channels except 4 disappeared completely.

Later, they had blank screens, with sound.

No its not anything your end I'd imagine. How could analogue get into a
digital system?

You need to find other viewers in the area at that time.

Pity it was a recording and not being monitored live as they one could have
done a few tests.

Brian

Damn! I've just wiped the short recording on DVD but I'm sure it'll
happen again.

Thanks.

Come to think of it I don't think I mentioned analogue at all.

I'd ask the Daily Mirror to print a front page on switch-over and it
should read 'Digital transmission ends pirate station outlook' then
ask them if they could hang it up and put it beside their 'Free
electricity for all!' front page which was printed with the big gride
roll out some decades ago.

Wasn't that when Calder Hall opened?

Actually, there was an article a few weeks back about a guy who's turned his
video card into a DVB-T transmitter ;P...
But I think the range was REALLY small.
So it's possible for a VGA output to appear on DVB-T ... I guess that would
mean anything can appear on a digital system with enough tinkering .
