Default Five and Humax PVR

If I set my Humax PVR-9200T to record a programme on Five (CSI or the
Gadget Show or whatever) then it records that and a whole bunch of repeats
from Five US and/or Fiver -- often multiple copies of the same programme.
I could live with that if it were not for those spurious repeats
occasionally usurping the recording of other programmes. It doesn't
happen with BBC, ITV, or Channel 4, when they put repeats on their other
channels. What's different about Five? Is the fault with Five or Humax?
Do other PVRs do this?

I just configure my Topfield to ignore repeats or to only look on one
channel.

I get the same thing on my PVR. Also mine has started over recording on
Channel 4 and Five. So for exmaple if a programme is only on for 30mins then
it will record 120minutes?

Five haven't got the hang of Series Link yet. Just set the programmes for
single record if you have problems. BBC also use Series Link incorrectly for
themed seasons sometimes.

I don't think they've got the hang of _television_ yet.

I have a Humax 9200T and I set it to record CSI and CSI New York on Five
(Tuesdays and Saturday evenings) and I only ever get those particular
shows, no repeats, nothing on other channels. I'm using the 'Series
Link' type selection.

Do you mean that you disable series-link, or that the Topfield allows you
to add restriction rules to scheduled series-link recordings?

You're right in that it seems that CSI has no spurious repeats at the
moment -- but it certainly has in the past. Last week, I got spurious
recordings for The Mentalist and The Gadget Show.

I deleted Five US and Fiver from the EPG a while back because the series
link is more useful to me than those extra channels. I added them back
last week to see if the problem was fixed, but obviously it isn't, so I've
now deleted them again.
