Me for one. I don't get 2.5Mb _ever_ and he complains about getting
throttled to it?

Not helped at all by getting Virgin leaflets through the door suggesting
I switch. Guys, YOU DON'T DO MY AREA!

Especially when Virgin then throttle your Broadband to dial up speeds

I still have the broadband cos it's what I am used to, sadly.

But are you paying significantly less in monthly charges?

Absolutely. £7ish a month. And to be totally honest I don't mind the
fact that i'm not getting the FULL 8 meg.

But those are the very people Virgin don't want as they only want to
'cherry pick' the areas they cover.

Here in the East Mids they ploughed their way thru villages to give
service to some of the towns. Did they put a sub node in
place.......like hell they did

SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's supposed to be a secret. As
one of the board stated a few years ago 'There is no Aluminium in the
local network'; with board members like that no wonder BT is where it
is now...

No B*****y secret around here. Not only is it basically not all that
good, but it corrodes at the ends - in the junction boxes.

Yes but they don't 'know' that.

After the first little mistake which I've alluded to, more recently
another high level manager insisted that Alluminium is as good as
Copper, pity no one told him about the different responces to certain
frequencies.

Pretty lucky in this patch as until the recent clamp-down cables were
being changed to copper rather than fixing, so a lot of Ali got
shifted and what is left is in reasonable condition, but on other
patches I do know they are suffering badly.

i have sky telephone, tv and internet and i have never had any
problems with the internet or phone. However due to us not having
telephone line connected to box we sometimes lose signal, this is
because sky "ping" the box to make sure everything is all working and
that is how we lose connection sometimes but other than that never any
problems
