Jamie, I don't get any favouritism. It's you that gets unfavouritism.
What's happening is that I, like most people here, post rational stuff
and you post a lot of mad rantings, so naturally I am better received
than you.

Uh-huh... so... been up to the loft for your photo's yet? I'm looking
forward to actually seeing you substantiate one of your "rational" claims
with a bit of evidence - there's a first time for everything after all.

Bash Street Juniors
Report form

ENGLISH
Jamie's creative writing is wonderful! He has a marvellous imagination.
His work is a rich tapestry of fantasy, peopled by a fantastical
collection of red-necked ogres and of course the dreaded homophobes (I
don't know what these are, but Jamie obviously does!)
Although Jamie's literacy is generally quite good, he occasionally
misplaces an apostrophe, typically in words like 'photos'.

MATHEMATICS
Jamie will never progress at maths until he masters basic arithmetic.
Until he learns that 2 + 2 does NOT equal 5 he will make no progress.

HISTORY
The class has studied 20th C. International History this term, and I'm
afraid Jamie has learnt nothing. He insists on clinging to his own
perverse and totally irrational interpretation of events, despite all the
evidence.

PE
Jamie is lithe and active, and is surprisingly fit for a boy who spends
all his spare time hunched over his computer. However his recent attempts
to wriggle out of tight corners have been largely unsuccessful. He can be
made to jump through hoops though, when caught unawares. His attempts to
mount the horse have been unsuccessful so far.

RURAL STUDIES
This term Jamie dug several deep holes and then found he couldn't scramble
out. For some reason no other class member was prepared to help him.

PSE
This is an area of great difficulty for Jamie. At the moment he seems to
be progressing backwards.

HEADMASTER'S REPORT
Jamie is a brilliant boy who could have a wonderful future. Unfortunately
he seems hell-bent of a course of self-destruction at the moment. I have
contacted the Education Office with a view to making an appointment with
the Educational Psychologist. However, I have little hope that he will be
able to untangle Jamie's tortured psyche; on the contrary I fear for the
psychologist's sanity.

Why do you waste your time sticking bits of metal on houses?
You should be an Educational Psychologist yourself - your assessment of his
character is masterful.
Having said that of course he clearly thrives on all the attention he gets,
and will enjoy your contribution

You imply that a gay man supervising boys' showers would be acceptable
nowadays, but what about a heterosexual man watching adolescent girls
shower? Or, for that matter, a heterosexual woman watching adolescent
boys shower.

What about primary schoolchildren? I can see that it might be
acceptable in the Infants, but probably only for a woman teacher,
regardless of the sex of the children.

I hold a Surrey County Council Chaperone licence. I am legally allowed
to look after either sex of children - in the same way that a female
chaperone can.

What age children?

under 16s.

Does that include supervising them in the showers (etc.)?

no idea - it was never mentioned.

The game is certainly played in the US:

Fictional school from the Beano, right?

Now, at parents' evening, a teacher might well be asked to back-up his/her
school report with evidence, especially if said report were found to contain
numerous absurdities.

So here come the rather predictable questions and responses, which of course
you won't bother reading properly because you're only properly interested in
what you have to say and nothing else...

ENGLISH
Jamie's creative writing is wonderful! He has a marvellous imagination.
His work is a rich tapestry of fantasy, peopled by a fantastical
collection of red-necked ogres

Please provide concrete examples of what I've allegedly imagined and
fantasized about.
I've never even heard "red-necked ogres" before.

and of course the dreaded homophobes

Oh, plenty of those around.

(I don't know what these are, but Jamie obviously does!)

yes, yes, yes, they were called something else in the 1870s, or whenever it
was you pretend to have been teaching - you've already said that in one of
your other made-up stories.

Although Jamie's literacy is generally quite good, he occasionally
misplaces an apostrophe, typically in words like 'photos'.

You'd get paid more than £20,000 of taxpayer money per year just to tell me
that? I think not.

MATHEMATICS
Jamie will never progress at maths until he masters basic arithmetic.
Until he learns that 2 + 2 does NOT equal 5 he will make no progress.

I got an A in my maths A-level, whereas you probably failed maths O-level
and broke the school's new fangled abacus machine...

HISTORY
The class has studied 20th C. International History this term, and I'm
afraid Jamie has learnt nothing. He insists on clinging to his own
perverse and totally irrational interpretation of events, despite all the
evidence.

Well I'll take that with a pinch of salt - state teachers are bound to tow
the state's line on these things aren't they - they wouldn't last very long
if they didn't.

As it happens, I'd say at least 50% of my peers at high school believed
there was a 9/11 conspiracy - it was widely discussed for a while - but the
teachers would say nothing either way
By all means keep on clutching to your newspapers' official stories if they
make you feel better, though.

PE
Jamie is lithe and active, and is surprisingly fit for a boy who spends
all his spare time hunched over his computer.

You must've installed hidden cameras in the wrong apartment. The majority of
my computer time is spent working - I have several assignments and revision
to complete right now.
During the spring and summer, I spend most of my spare time outdoors.

However his recent attempts to wriggle out of tight corners have been
largely unsuccessful. He can be made to jump through hoops though, when
caught unawares.

Which corners and which hoops? None spring to mind.

His attempts to mount the horse have been unsuccessful so far.

Get real - I have no intentions of ever attempting to mount your wife.

RURAL STUDIES
This term Jamie dug several deep holes and then found he couldn't scramble
out. For some reason no other class member was prepared to help him.

Again, which holes?

No teacher would ever have written that about any pupil - not only because
it's sick, false and cruel, but because teachers are not qualified to be
psychologists.

So to summarise:
You were asked to provide photographic evidence of your past teaching career
and failed to do so. When pressed, you became aggressive. When pressed
further, you responded by posting this pseudo-school report.
The pseudo-report contained a barrage of criticism, employing crude
school-themed analogies to deliver hard-hitting attacks upon my personality
and alleged mental state - and not one of these attacks have you
substantiated with any evidence.
In order to maintain the illusion of objectivity and retain credibiilty in
the eye of the casual reader, the pseudo-report has also been
lightly-peppered with positive observations, most of which are used simply
as a lead-in to further attacks.

So, Bill, after you've answered all my questions and points raised above
with the required evidence, let's be having that photographic evidence of
you as a teacher.

I take it your inate snobbery has prevented you from reading the
article in the link above.

You really should try and read it, or have your fag read it to you -
it makes a number of very interesting points

My *fag*! You're lucky he doesn't read these newsgroups

The report contains no evidence to suggest that the ruling military regime
of Pakistan is under threat.
What the report contains is news of some minor localised unrest, peppered
with media buzzwords, hype and spin.

Thanks for that. A slightly cynical answer would be that Educational
Psychologists don't earn much! Of course the truth is I failed everything at
school, so couldn't have a proper career. Had to become a teacher instead!

I think that's a perceptive observation.

Just to prove the truth of Muphry's Law, that kind of line is toed
(stepped up to), not towed.

I have been watching this for some time.
He sees an entire newsgroup dancing in circles around him, making him the
centre of attention.
It doesn't matter a jot whether he wins or loses the arguments, as long as
they continue.
He has stumbled across an audience that he's never had before, and can't get
in real life.
It's wonderful - he can feel socially adequate for a while.

used to nick other peoples 10 bob postal orders!

Why do I have this picture of you as an inadequate lard arse wearing
