When I try to view a channel on the new BBC mobile phone TV service on
www.bbc.co.uk/mobile/live/tv

I get an error message "Your device appears to be unable to support this
service."

Sadly I can't find a list of devices that the service does work on

Has anyone had any success?

I just tried it with my Nokia N95 8GB via wifi and get:
BBC Live TV/Radio is designed to be used over a Wifi connection only
Another upcock by the beeb no doubt.
I used to get BBC iplayer stuff without problems til I fell for their
"upgrade", now I can't get it at all.

Yes thats for information, not an error, just press Continue.

On my iPhone, I then get a list of Channels, but when I select one I get
"Your device appears to be unable to support this
service." too.

I assume it is only there for test purposes at the moment.

I did try pressing continue but it just refreshes the same page.

No luck here either..

I'm using an HTC P3300.
With the built-in Windows mobile browser it just tries to down load an
"sdp" file - what ever that is.

With Opera Mini browser is seems more promising but then I get told
"Sorry, programmes cannot be watched outside the UK". I'm connected via
Virgin Media so have a UK based IP address (unless it sees the local
address of my device on my local network).

Not a good start for the BBC!

I thought it was just my phone that it did not like, but if it does not
work on iPhones and HTC it makes you wonder what phones it does work on.

Seems ok on my shiny new Nokia 5800. Picture pretty pixellated, not the
best frame rate, sound sounds seriously over-compressed (in the mpeg
sense, that is)! 'Normal' BBC iPlayer stuff looks and sounds better on the
same phone.

I'm just dreading the bill when I accidentally use iPlayer or the like on
3G instead of WiFi!

dom.

Perhaps the engineer in charge was out testing it on his mobile and walked
under a bus and they now have a vacancy? smile.

Doesn't work on my phone or PC. Get the

"Your device appears to be unable to support this service."

message when clicking on a programme.
