You'd be wrong there.

Currently watching a bunch of airheads trying to work out how to wash a car
(and having no idea how much they should charge) - hilarious!

What's happened is this:-

http://help.digitaluk.co.uk/al/197/1...?aid=6503&bt=4

So overnight C5 analogue from Fawley shut down,
and there was a reshuffle of the DTT mux allocations at Rowridge.

It's because Stockland Hill in Devon is having proper DSO in a couple
months, and unless Rowridge moved some of its muxes it ran the risk of
being swamped out in some parts of its area,

Mux 1 was to have taken Ch 37, and Mux C Ch 34 (released from Fawley),
however
it seems that Mux 1 has taken Ch 34, and Mux C Ch 37.

That's a better solution. Ch 37 is out of range of older Group A
aerials, and furthermore C5 analogue from Mendip romps in in the Poole
area.
Better not to receive the gunk on Mux C, than miss out on the main BBC
channels (IMHO). It seems lots are still missing the BBC, so their aerials
can't be responding properly to Ch 34.

many thanks for the reply Mark, please excuse my ignorance but would you
think a new aerial would sort things out, it is an old one, i know bugger
all about telly aerials.

Where roughly do you live ?

Did you get reliable reception of all channels before today ?

Which of these six channels are you missing ?

BBC 1 Ch 1
BBC Parliament Ch 81
ITV 1 Ch 3
Five Ch 5
Sky 3 Ch 11
Film 4 Ch 15

What is the quality like of the four main channels on analogue ?

Bournemouth, reception yesterday was good & had all the channels.

on my freeview thomson pvr i get all channels except ch3 itv1, all the
channels have been shuffled, tried re scanning, resetting but still the
same.

now on my tv which has freeview built into it Ch 1 is now Five, press the up
button it then jumps to ch 9 which is BBC4 , Ch 3 is also Five, Ch15 is QVC,
it appears to be all over the place, again re scanned but to no avail.

i really appriciate your time.

If you Google for Split NIT you will see the cause of the problem has
already been experienced elsewhere. I wrote an explanation for a Forum I
belong to. The link is

many contract Group A aerials were already 6dB+ down by channel 33. If
they were OK on ch 31, who'd have noticed?

In the days when we in Doncaster used to use Bilsdale in places where
Emley and Belmont were no good, most of the local riggers believed that
BBC1 on ch33 was 'sent out at lower strength' than the other channels.

That's what they told their customers, presumably?

Yes, and the customers took in in as the Gospel Truth, and recited it years
later. "Don't worry about BBC1 young man, it's sent out much weaker than the
others."

I still treasure the memory of a letter head of a rigger in the Glasgow
area. "Specialist in Poor Signal Reception". He'd certainly succeeded at
the installation I went to.

After the last three days I've had a belly full of moronic installers. I'll
tell the tale at some point when I've calmed down. It's been a very bad
three days.
