I have some Wharfedale Programme 30D.6 speakers. 4-8 ohm, 100w by
Wharfedale International.
They have the normal black and red clip connections. In addition 2 green
ones.

What are these green ones for, anyone know?

( I would like to add a second one to one of them and wondering if these are
for that purpose, and what effect it as on the impedance on my amp. over the
use of the one present one.)

Earth I should imagine, but you risk setting up ground loops.

Never ceases to amaze me why people don't Google before asking on here.

There is a version with a 100V line transformer built in, so likely the
green connectors will be for the 100V line when fitted?

It is a DT that is the PA type 100v line
My Googleing told me that was a selector switch.

But you googled and you didn't find the answer. You found a possibility.
Someone on here might know the answer.

I wonder if they were doing it as a biwiring version when that craze was on,
then abandoned that but had a lot of four way connectors in stock, so got
some green plastic markers.

Could you not undo those screws on the connector plate and pull the
plate out to have a look how they are connected. That would soon tell you.

Yes, you have a good idea there. Now I feel silly.
OK looked and nothing connected to them.

Thank you and to the others who responded.
