I doubt that one size fits all, works. I watch plenty of operas and documentaries which have a native 16:9 ratio. and I would get black side bars if I watched them on that TV. |

The movie theater screen would have white or gray bars if it wasn't for the side curtains that are strategically positioned to hide the unused portions of the screen.
