I have a Panny 50" Freesat plasma, and very occasionally, I hear a
slight buzz coming from the top left corner. If I touch the screen or
even the casing in that area, it stops. Let go and it starts again,
but slowly fades away after a few minutes. Any ideas?

Marky, there's a well-know fix for this. Squirt a full tube of No More
Nails all over that part of the screen. It never fails.

There's nothing better than a sensible response, and that WAS nothing
like
one!

I_beg_to_differ!
When I was in the TV trade it was standard practice to "damp"
buzzing or whistling wound components with a genorous gob of
Radiospares multi-purpose adhesive.

That's fine, but in this case there would be an undesirable side-effect:
part
of the screen obscured by the gob.

OK. A suitably sized gob at the top left might obscure
DOGS...Great!..But...

Brilliant. Anyone know when it's Aggy's birthday?

Bill

surely he would need No More Buzz which is available from any reputable TV
shops.

I think you're both getting confused here. What he really needs is a tub of
"I can't believe its not buzzer".

Well, the next model down from mine (46") has 'bumps' in the plastic
case where the screws have been over-tightened in the factory. It's
only every set apparently.

Don't they plasma thingies have fans? Maybe it's a fan causing the buzz?

It has three fans. I have the telly on at the moment and all three
fans are running, but there is very little noise coming from them.
Whether they speed up when the set gets warmer and that's what causes
the buzz, I don't know. But it's strange how it stops by just
touching the screen or casing. Maybe the fan to the left is causing
the casing to vibrate.
