My parents bought a cheap DigiHome DV940B2 from Argos and it can't
seem to cope with processing the information - lip-sync gets worse and worse until the sound is lost for a few seconds every ~10 minutes, after which it catches up again, and so on. They have a standard aerial and the signal strength readout is maximum on all channels. Should we junk the box and get another one ? Which are best value for money ? Thanks -- John |

Argos will argue if you take it back. The girl will trot out the singsong formula "Digital TV boxes are excluded from the 30 day return policy" to which you will reply "But not if the damned thing is faulty." Tried looking for a software download (in the installation menu)? Failing that, give it to the Church Fayre. Bill |

Never heard of that one. Sounds a bit strange. Surely for this to occur a
fair bit of ram must be in the device. Incidentally, as has been mentioned before, your rights to return an item to Argos are not affected by their exclusions, as this would be illegal. I personally think they should be taken to task over such a bloomer by someone who can aford it, as its misleading to those who do not know the consumer law. It often seems that the staff are the least knowledgeable in this respect... grin... Brian being cynical again -- Brian Gaff - Note:- In order to reduce spam, any email without 'Brian Gaff' in the display name may be lost. Blind user, so no pictures please! If the product is faulty then you are in your rights to get a replacement/another product/refund. If you plain don't want it then that's a whole other issue. Argos, gotta love their customer service. |

I returned a Sagem PVR to Argos because of poor reception/faulty tuner and they refunded it without quibble. If there is a fault which causes malfunction as described, then in theory they cannot refuse, despite what their policy states. Good luck, Paul |

Brian Gaff - Brian, I had a Hauppauge DEC1100-T dvb box with lip-sync problems. After 10-minutes or so it gets hopelessly out of synch. It's now been relegated to the summerhouse where I use it only for the radio channels. Googling brings up a number of examples regarding this sync issue. HNY David |

Just as well I do not use the pictures these days then. That would have
infuriated me when I could see. Brian -- Brian Gaff - Note:- In order to reduce spam, any email without 'Brian Gaff' in the display name may be lost. Blind user, so no pictures please!
