There was a story a few years ago which said that some bright person
decided to add the word erection to the spam detector on the incoming
email servers at a local authority in Oxfordshire, with very
unfortunate results, ie no emails about planning applications got in.

There's a council called Babergh in Suffolk. Any attempts to get to their
website were blocked by the security filters on PCs where I work for quite
a while!

om...
Did you used to write in Television magazine?

From 1978 to the demise of that publication I was a very minor contributor.

I'm sure I read about the legend on a van in there many years ago when I
could see...
I wonder if Mr Doubleday still lives...

No, everyone's dead.

You've heard of Cohen TV Aerials in Leigh-on-Sea, I presume:

Did you know that the most widespread use of the word erection, is in the

An aerial rigger I know used to drive a van with "All erections
guaranteed" on the side.

I saw a truck some years ago, on the M11, proclaiming "Satisfaction
guaranteed with every erection"

Rock is almost always hard, in my experience. So any erection made from
it should remain so indefinitely.

Unless, of course, the OP meant rock-hard erection, in which case I
didn't want to know.
