Is there something wrong with the EPG on DTT from Sandy Heath? I'm
pressing 'Guide' on my remote and getting nothing. Just reverts back
to TV picture. Hope it's not a fault with the telly :-(

It's ok. Found the fault is with Panasonic. There latest 'over the
air' download has stopped the EPG working on channels 1 - 10. Just
hope they fix it soon. Don't fancy doing a factory reset.

I have a panasonic too.
I've found the EPG to behave like this too.

It did this a few months ago, and 'fixed' itself.
It's doing it again today.

Pressing 'guide' just reverts back to the program.
If you use the up or down arrows to go to a high channel number, the EPG
works OK.
When in the EPG, if you scroll back to lower channels ( below 10 or so ) it
flips out of the EPG back to the last selected channel.

Either the EPG data is screwed up, or the panasonic firmware is.

I have never knowingly updated the panasonic fw, but it may have done so
itself.

That's exactly what's happening with mine. Updates are done
automatically overnight. There's one due at 0310 in the morning that
may fix it, so leave your telly in standby to grab it.

I don't know if it is true or not but from my perspective it is
often the IDTV sets that suffer from dodgy downloads more
than STBs

Actually Microsoft have a very large testing core. They're called
"early adopters". I won't be touching Vista at all, far too flabby.
Linux all the way...

If Linux could recognise all my hardware and run all my software, I'd have
made the change already and be using it now, but I've never found a version
that could. Windows may be a bit bloated but it does enable me to use
things without delving too deeply into technicalities, which is what it's
all about.

Maybe the situation will be different by the time I build my next computer,
and I'll give it some serious consideration, but not yet.

I'm actually a little surprised that you've got hardware that isn't
supported by the most recent versions of Linux. Things have got
considerably better over the last 2-3 years. I assume it's something
like a webcam or scanner?

FWIW the likelihood of not being able to find a driver if you upgrade to
Vista is actually higher than if you change to Linux.

Can't say I've noticed myself, but anyway, this mornings download has
fixed the EPG.
