My local ALDI has 250GB PVR with twin tunoers for £100. It's this one, I
think: http://img104.mytextgraphics.com/pho...ipvr-46qsfvwwa ..jpg Is it recommended? Daniele |

Daniele We've got two of the 160G (I think) version of this that came from Tescos. Overall, I'm very pleased with them. They're low-power, compact and unobtrusive, easy to use and have been reliable. Best feature - the remote is a 3-in-one that will also control the TV and DVD player. I even got it to work with an ancient ITT set. It's smart enough to always control volume and mute on the TV whichever mode it's switched to. Niggles: 1 - I wish there was a way to digitally copy recordings off them. I know others will start singing the praises of Humaxes and Toppies... 2 - There isn't (so far as I know), a series link function. Ditto... If you just want something simple and reasonably cheap, go for it. -- Steve Hayes South Wales, UK ----Remove colours from address---- |

(Ethernet of course would be better any day.) |

Daniele Fundamentally a good unit albeit with some idiosyncrasies in the way the menu systems works and the limited ability to sort channels. -- Woody harrogate three at ntlworld dot com |
