Default Sky+ functions have stopped

I can no longer use the Sky+ functions on my box. To isolate the problem I
have tried another Sky+ (we have two using multi-room) attached to the dish
leads & that works; I have also tried the faulty Sky+ box with another TV &
the fault subsists. I have removed the two dish leads & tried each in each
of the two dish inputs & it is always the same input which doesn't work. Is
there anything else I can do please?

Thanks

Brian

I have also tried both a planner rebuild & a full system reset and all I get
is an error message telling my that Sky+ record & playback cannot be used &
giving me a telephone number to phone. Before phoning I though I'd see if
anyone in this ng had any advice.

Normally a full reset wil sort it, did you unplug the unit from the wall, if
not, try for 5mins then plug it back in.

Thanks Rob. I did unplug it from the wall. Nothing seems to work. When I
tried the full system reset I got the "housekeeping" message, the box turned
itself off then nothing. after a couple of hours I turned it back on again
however it was just the same as before. A signal test suggests that both
channels have a good signal.

has one of the tuners given up?

Know little about sky+, but stupid_question has your "subscription"
been turned off on the one card? /stupid_question

Good thought PeeGee but we can still get Sky on this box; it's just the Sky+
functions not working which suggests that one of the tuners isn't working
although a signal test shows that both channels are receiving a good strong
signal.

Sounds as though your hard disk may have failed.

Ah I hadn't thought of that. That does make sense. Sky didn't supply this
particular box so would they come out & look at it. If I can't somehow get
out of paying the call out fee would Sky replace a box they didn't supply?
would they even know if they didn't supply it? A lot of questions I know
however I'm just trying to get it sorted as cheaply as possible.

If your subscription has lapsed the Sky+ functions won't work - it will just
work as a standard digibox.
Regards Mike.
