Hi All
I seem to remember a few weeks ago reading a posting about something being turned off and how it would affect a limited number of people, can't for the lif of me think what it was and I can't see any obvious subject lines. Dads (very) old Labgear freeview box stopped working sometime this week and claimed it had no signal and setting iot to rescan still produced nothing. However, he still had bbc1,2, itv, c4, c5 via the tv tuner so no problem with aerial cables. So was the freeview box a casualty of whatever it was that was switched off?? regards Dudley |

Reportedly "the light at the end of the tunnel" had been temporarily switched off to change it to a compact florescent bulb, but when switched back on again there were complaints it was a bit too dim. To reduce the level of complaints the powers that be are considering removing the bulb altogether... Question is - is the Philex box actually any good or is it one of the cheapo units that you can buy in Tesco and Asda for not much more than 15 quid anyway? Don't know if I should get the Philex or stump up 20 quid and get one with two scarts ?? |

Nothing relevant has been switched off, but the NIT has been split, with the result that the Novapal 'Setpal' boxes, of which the Labgear DTT100 is one example, will no longer work. There's no fix for this, it's time for your dad to buy a new box. -- Andy |

Nothing relevant has been switched off That is rather an unfair criticism of the Selkirk transmitter and associated relays. I am sure that the residents of the Scottish Borders feel that it was relevant to them. |
