Do you have it connected to the RF2 outlet & the serial port? Do you get programme info displayed on the Gnome's LED screen? -- Cheers Nigel Barker Live from the sunny Cote d'Azur |

Does it change channels at all when the Gnome is adjacent to the digibox? They can be iffy at channel changing at a distance while still receiving OK. I now use a Powermid IR extender & Sky remote to change channels on the Gnome in the bedroom. The only other thing that I can suggest is to confirm that Gnome transmitter & receiver are operating on the same frequency/channel. If they are different then you can still get reception although it may be a little distorted but it won't change channel. To change the channel/frequency used then refer to page 20 of the manual here http://www.worldsat.ru/images/downloads/Sky%20Gnome.pdf On page 22 of the manual it refers to a special case where the Gnome cannot change channels with older Amstrad/Panasonic/Grundig digiboxes & you need to enter System Setup on the digibox to fix it. Unless you have changed digiboxes this probably is not the problem in your case. -- Cheers Nigel Barker Live from the sunny Cote d'Azur |

Someone phoned in on the BBC Three Counties Radio consumer programme about their Sky Gnome being faulty. They had a job getting a replacement as Sky no longer supply the gnome's as they just didn't sell very well. So, who here has a Sky Gnome? Marky P. |

I suspect that the reason that Sky stopped selling them is that the advent of cheaper DAB radios has meant that they are no longer the only way of getting digital radio channels around the home. They were in any case rather pricey. That is for the UK market but of course for us ex-pats to listen to the cricket by the side of the swimming pool they are godsend:-) -- Cheers Nigel Barker Live from the sunny Cote d'Azur |
