Default Freeview box restarting

I got a new sagem freeview box recently with a card slot with setanta
sports. I returned the box as it kept on freezing and then restarting.
Now the replacment box is doing the same thing?

How do I troubleshoot the problem? I am using a signal booster to
share the aerial between this box and a homebrew computer pvr, this
has never given me any problems before. I got the new box because of
the card slot. Any help greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Chris

I have had the use of 3 sagem boxes (OK, I know). My observations a

1. The sagem boxes need a good signal level, I would certainly start
troubleshooting by having as clear a run to the aerial as possible.

2. I have a Sagem box that suffers from the same symptoms as yours. It seems
to do it on the BBC channels and I suspect it is something to do with the
'interactive' red button. If I place it on the BBC News channel it
invariably reboots on the hour, every hour. The timing coincides with the
arrival of the red button graphic.

3. As point 2 suggests the boxes are very buggy, poor software and limited
support.

Sheila
