I've been doing lots of research and I can't figure out why the 37
inch XBR is more expensive than the 40 inch V series when, as far as I can tell, they have the same exact specs. Anyone know more? Thanks. |

Thanks. I looked at a wall full of LCD sets a few weeks ago, and at first thought all sets looked pretty much the same. After a minute or so, the difference between the cheap and more expensive sets like the XPR became apparent. First, the cheap sets have a fake sharpness to them, where high contrast objects almost looked as if they were outlined with a narrow black border. In scenes that were part dark and part light, you could not see any detail in the dark portions of the cheap sets. The XPR, and some Samsung and some Sharp sets looked particularly good. The Sony may, in fact, have overdone the shadow detail a bit. Tam |
