Default WXYZ's HD schedule

With Nightline, World News Tonight, E.T. 7:30 and 4am replay, they've
added three hours of HD programming, but I think it's odd that the
E.T. 4am rerun is HD, but Oprah is only HD at 4pm. The 1:05 am rerun
is not.

ABC Soaps and Regis should be next on the list, and the daily The
Price is Right for CBS.

Did you stay up to check the 4 AM rerun, or did you have the DVR
record it?

Anyway if you are looking for shows that are now being made available
for syndication in HD and might be on your local stations, there are now
a number of them. For the daytime talk shows, besides Oprah, there is
Dr. Phil & Ellen. For sitcoms, Everybody Loves Raymond & Two and a Half
Men have been shown in HD by some stations for a few months.

For the hour long shows, syndication runs for Lost, CSI: Miami, CSI:
NY, and Desperate Housewives that just started or are starting will be
in HD on some stations.

As for the daytime soaps, I think there is still only one soap in HD
which is on CBS. May be years before most of them go HD.

It has to do with if the station can record in HD for overnight Playback

I was up early, hoping for HD from overnight news.

Raymond is HD. Haven't checked 2&1/2, Phil & Ellen.

WDIV does a wierd thing, broadcasting the last segment of Wheel of
Fortune and Final Jeopardy in SD.

I think it's Guiding Light. Maybe The Young and the Restless. But The
Price is Right buggled me because the prime time was HD, and the PBS
documentary on television showed HD cameras in operation.

WXYZ was the first to provide HD sports highlights. It was just funny
that E.T. was HD, and the late night Oprah wasn't.

Many stations do that when they are switching to their local SD feed
for either the next show or a block of local commercials prior to
switching to the network feed. It is not uncommon on the digital HD
broadcast channel to see the primetime HD program from the network at
~10:59 PM ET (for those on the east coast) or just before the network
show ends, suddenly switch to SD so they can switch to the local news in
SD at 11 PM.

As for the daytime soaps, I think there is still only one soap in HD

IIRC, the daytime showings of Price is Right on CBS are supposed to go
HD very soon, if they have not already. The HD cameras are a small part
of what is need to produce a show in HD - the whole studio and
production control room have to be upgraded.

WWJ just showed a syndicated CSI:NY in HD. I think I'm watching
CSI:Maimi now-- HD.

SD Lost was at 10pm on WMYD.

Desperate Housewives was on WXYZ last night. It wasn't HD, but that
college game ran long.

Yep, Ellen's HD on WDIV. Hopefully, the last hour of today will remain
HD at 2pm.
