Another Tivo BS Tatic

TiVo is starting to **** me off. Tonight while watching a recorded show I
noticed that one of the record lights was on. Checking to see what was
recording I found it was nothing I had setup. I then wanted to record what I
was watching so I hit the record button. Now I want to go to another channel
but noooo TiVo is recording something in the background on it's own. Nothing
of my doing. So while TiVo is taken on some BS from teleword or what ever
this BS Is I then reset the box to prevent it. If I can't record then it's
not going too.

Sad I can't do what I paid for as TiVo blocked it.

When this unit eats it I'll never buy another.

By default Tivo automatically records its suggestions. That can be turned
off.

You should have been able to stop the recording of the Teleworld program
and then changed that tuner to a different channel.

It is off. And the do list had nothing in it.

You know nothing of what TiVo is doing. It was recording the ad BS.
It was not recording anything in my to do list as nothing was in it.

If it were. I would have been able to stop it which I was not.
Maybe you should be the one to RTFM.

You dont do it from the ToDo list, it wont show there. Switch tuners and
turn it off from there (press right on the disk)

That DL is typically at very early hours, maybe you should get some sleep!

Teleworld shows will never be in the ToDo list (well, not never. See
previous week's messages.)

If the box is recording it, the box is showing it. So flip to the tuner
that is showing the "download" and kill it from that screen. There is even
a "stop recording" instruction on the display (you might have to "info" the
show - I forget.)

I have killed their downloads numerous times.

I empathise with you Tivo's shortcomings. It can be very annoying and
frustrating. You'd think that so many years of (alleged) development would
have resulted in something better.
