My parents have a LCD flat screen TV which changes digital channels
all by itself, any suggestions for a cure?

Cheers
Steve

Has the handset got damp and it's sending random commands?
take it out of the room to make sure.
If its not that, then I hope the set is still under warranty because
it doesn't look like it's going to be a DIY repair.

Possibly a long shot, but they haven't fitted any low energy light bulbs
recently have they?

An exorcist?

By itself sounds ominous. If it does it with no batteries in its remote I'd
get onto the vendor with a firm but polite attitude.

And they don't have an electric air freshener, or an electronically
ballasted light near or on the same outlet?

Because such lamps emit 'modulated' infra-red light, that the TV *might*
interpret as a genuine command.

Unlikely, given the robustness of modern encoding protocols.
With earlier simpler schemes it might have been a different matter.
Earlier still, ultrasonic remote control was in vogue, I had a
Philips that I could turn on by jangling my keys.

FIXED - seems a bad new software download, reset and downloaded again
cured the problem.

Thanks folks.
