I have a 22" LD LCD TV which switches itself on by itself just after
midnight. It seems to do this every time I forget to unplug it. Any
ideas ?

What's the make and model?
Try taking the handset out of the room in case it is sporadically
sending a channel change command.

there might be some signal on the mains to switch on night rate electricity
and your set is coming out of standby as a result.

Over on Sagazone someone been having a problem with their TV turning
itself off around 1100 & 2300.

A clue here was that the manual said "on loss of signal a countdown
starts", with the countdown displayed on screen, and the TV then turning
off.

A suggestion was that either a aerial amp was on a white meter supply or
something was causing interference, and hence loss of signal around
those times.

I notice from P72 of the manual that it features a timer.

"Once the on time/off time is set, these functions operate daily
at the preset time. Off time function overrides On timer function if
they are set both to the same time."

Andy, I think you may have cracked it. On the menu list the timer was
set to 'ON' at 00:00 (the 'OFF' timer was set to off).
I'll try it tonight.

What else is plugged into it? A STB switching on looking for software
updates?
